    Using these terms with patients

    • "Infarto" alone can mean any infarct. For patients, "ataque al corazón" is unmistakable.
    • Ask about radiation and associated symptoms in one breath: "¿El dolor se va al brazo o a la quijada? ¿Con sudor o náusea?"
    • Many patients stop antihypertensives once they feel well. Ask "¿Sigue tomando la pastilla de la presión?" at every visit.
