    Using these terms with patients

    • "Pecho" is chest but also breast in many regions. For breast complaints, "el seno" or "la mama" removes the ambiguity.
    • "Dolor torácico" is chart language; patients say "dolor de pecho". Use theirs when speaking, yours when writing.
    • Distinguish pressure from pain: "¿Es un dolor o más como una presión?" — a question that changes the cardiac workup.
