Head and Face Vocabulary in Spanish

    HEENT exams use a tight cluster of anatomic vocabulary. These Spanish terms cover the scalp, face, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and jaw — everything you need for headache, sinus, ENT, and ophthalmology encounters.

    Using these terms with patients

    • Oreja is the outer ear; oído is hearing and the inner ear. Hearing loss belongs to the oído.
    • "La vista" is vision and "el ojo" is the eyeball — ask "¿Tiene problemas de la vista?" for functional complaints.
    • "Cara" is the face, "cabeza" the head. A facial droop is described with "la cara", not "la cabeza".
